Fast, reliable delivery to British Forces Post Office addresses worldwide

We make it easy to send packages to BFPO addresses, using our International Scheduled service via the military sort centre in the UK.

Your options
You can use Parcelforce Worldwide to send your packages to BFPO London, with onward delivery handled by BFPO (subject to agreement with BFPO Headquarters Contracts Branch). You pay our special BFPO rate. Please call the Commercial Receipts Office, BFPO London, on 020 8818 6424 for details of MOD charges and charging arrangements.

Weight and size limits
The following limits apply to all BFPO packages.
Maximum weight: 30kg (for packages posted to HM Ships (BFPO’s 200 to 499) the maximum weight limit is 11kg).
Maximum length: 1.05m.
Maximum length and girth combined: 2.0m.

Documentation
Please complete a Parcelforce Worldwide Despatch Pack (PFU 132) and use an International Scheduled service indicator (PFU 163).

Addressing guidelines
Items for delivery to a BFPO should include the following details: Title, Name, Unit, BFPO and the correct number (please ensure correct number is stated), BFPO approved postcode only. Please do not enter the country of destination or use a UK postcode on the address.

Please mark all packages clearly in the top left hand corner with ‘HM Forces Mail’. Items not correctly addressed may be delayed.

HM Forces services for non-account customers

Personnel of HM Forces stationed overseas, and their dependants who live with them, can be sent  parcels at the BFPO concessionary rate.  This is on the condition that they are sent to BFPO numbers, including HM Ships, or to a military or diplomatic address.   Dependants' parcels must be addressed 'care of' the serving relative and to the HM Forces address.

Entitled non-Forces personnel stationed at HM Forces addresses also qualify.

All parcels must be clearly marked 'HM Forces Mail' in the top left-hand corner.

This service includes any member of HM Forces serving at any American Post Office (APO) address.

Commonwealth Forces
Personnel serving with British Units can send parcels between BFPO locations and the UK at the BFPO Worldwide rates.

UK-based personnel without a BFPO number
Personnel serving in Great Britain, Northern ireland and the Isle of Man can send parcels at the BFPO rate.

Redirection of parcels
Parcels sent to or from personnel at a BFPO address are free from any additional redirection charges.

Falkland Islands
As an amendment to where otherwise stated, please note that all parcels are sent by surface delivery and may arrive between 6 and 8 weeks after posting.

International Datapost and Euro 48 services are not available to BFPO addresses.

Weight and size limits
The maximum parcel weight that can be delivered to land-based destinations is 30kg.  Deliveries to HM Ships (BFPO Nos. 200 - 499) must not be heavier than 11kg.

The maximum length is 1.05m and the maximum length and girth combined must be no more than 2m.
