Every year in Parcelforce we celebrate colleagues from all areas of our business in our Employee Of The Year awards. These awards are usually held in a venue where all the area winners come together for an exciting night of celebration and award. This year the awards were held virtually but they were no less special for it.
Colleagues from all across the UK were nominated and represented – and although they all came from different areas and places, they all had one thing in common… they had been recognised by their peers and customers as having been an outstanding member of the team for the last year (and beyond!)
It was different preparation this year – instead of arranging an overnight awards dinner and stay at a nice hotel, pre- arrangements included sending every area winner and finalist a bottle of champagne and a huge slab of chocolate so that everyone could enjoy the social event together and setting up the none-too-daunting zoom call for over 50 people. Organiser Louise said, ‘It was a pretty funny night and it was lovely to connect virtually and see our colleagues faces.’
It was a glittering affair, with our board members, regional and operational managers, and of course the all-important area winners, all in virtual attendance.
Each Area winner had been nominated by colleagues, and they had their nomination read out by their Operations Manager. There were cheers abundant as each one of our amazing colleagues was celebrated by everyone in turn.
Louise comments ‘It’s a shame we weren’t able to get together for dinner but I’m so glad we managed to trial something new for our winners!
The event is always really special and one that the executive team always say is their favourite- celebrating our staff and the fantastic work they do!’
You can see the individual citations of our amazing colleagues on our social media pages: Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter, using the hashtag #PFWEOYAwards
Many congratulations to all our Employee of the Year winners, area and national, Thank you all, and keep up the amazing work!

Find out more about how Parcelforce Worldwide can support your business' growth. Whether you are sending in the UK or across the globe.
There were a record number of small businesses started during the pandemic; the 'Shop Local' advice of each lockdown has grown into shoppers' preferred buying method; and last Black Friday witnessed the boycotting of some of the world's biggest brands - including Amazon - with many independent retailers donating to charity and planting trees as part of a renewed drive against consumerism. All this has meant one thing for SMEs: growth. But this growth also means the competition is higher than ever.
