Important information for senders

Customs, Prohibitions and Restrictions

  • It is recommended you use the Commodity Code (Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System ('HS' code)) when declaring your goods. This will ensure your goods attract the correct Duties.
  • The use of the receiving company’s CNPJ number, which is their Tax I.D., will assist in expediting the customs process.
  • The Federal Revenue Department of Brazil requires the Taxpayer Identification Number (CPF) and a local telephone number on all shipments. If customers are registered on the Correios platform "Minhas Importações", they will receive a message asking them to add their CPF or they can see where this is required and add this via their tracking website. Items that do not contain the appropriate CPF may be subject to return.
  • It is also recommended that you use a Customs broker.
  • In order to confirm that your items are not prohibited or restricted, please check our dedicated page here
  • Should you require specific customs advice and the latest rules please visit the Brazilian customs website

General Advice
  • In order to ensure a delivery on time, please ensure that your parcel has the full, correct address, an email address in the correct format and a mobile or landline number for the intended recipient. This will help the delivery partner to ensure the parcel is delivered correct first time. This should be clearly marked on the parcel.
  • Timescales shown above do not include delays caused by destination country customs processes. Please be aware that customs could add additional time to your parcel delivery.
