  • Please note that Lithium batteries cannot be sent to this country. 
  • Medicines of any kind unless accompanied by a medical prescription issued by a competent official authority ; 
  • Products designed for extinguishing fires; 
  • Chemical liquids; 
  • Articles contrary to the principles of the islamic faith are prohibited. 
  • All goods of Israeli origin are prohibited - Importers may sometimes request a "black list" certificate to prove this point - available from Chambers of Commerce. 
  • Pork products 
  • Toys / statuettes of people or animals 
  • Artificial pearls 
  • Equipment for distilleries 
  • Articles representing the Saudi royal family 
  • Wheat 
  • Items with a short shelf life - perishables 
  • Alcohol 
  • Anything appearing to promote gambling or smoking. 
• Permits and certificates are required for a large range of goods - exporters should contact UKTI and their local Chamber of Commerce for advice. 
• Arab-British certificates of origin are needed for most types of goods. 
• Country of origin should also be stamped on the outside of any roll of material. 
• Restricted Goods include: 
  • Broadcasting equipment 
  • Animal feed 
  • Foodstuffs of Belgian or Dutch origin 
  • Military equipment 
  • Human remains 
  • Tobacco 
  • Electrical goods 
  • Shaving brushes 
  • Articles made of hair 
  • Pharmaceuticals
